FAFSA Updates Allow Immediate Feedback for Students on Aid Eligibility
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has introduced a new feature that allows students to receive immediate feedback on their eligibility for grants and loans. This update, launched by the Office of Federal Student Aid, aims to streamline the application process by providing instant eligibility information and notifying students of any errors in their submissions. Previously, students would receive error notifications days later, requiring them to revisit the application. The update is part of broader improvements to the FAFSA process, including recalling past data for families and allowing parents without Social Security numbers to use their Taxpayer Identification Number.
