Singapore Raises 2026 GDP Forecast Amid AI Investment Boom
Singapore's government has increased its GDP growth forecast for 2026, citing a stronger-than-expected AI investment boom. The revised forecast now stands at 4.5% to 5.5%, up from the previous range of 2.0% to 4.0%. This adjustment comes as the impact of the Middle East conflict has been less severe than anticipated, and the global demand for AI-related technologies has surged. The Trade Ministry noted that sectors linked to the AI-driven technology cycle are expected to perform well, although those affected by supply disruptions from the Middle East conflict remain vulnerable.
