International Rescue Committee Offers Financial Capabilities Internship in U.S. to Support Refugees
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is offering an unpaid Financial Capabilities internship in the U.S., specifically in New Jersey, to support newly arrived refugees and immigrants. This program aims to enhance the financial literacy of participants, provide financial coaching, and facilitate access to low-interest loans, ultimately empowering them towards self-sufficiency. The intern will be responsible for providing one-on-one financial coaching, conducting budgets and financial surveys, and coordinating monthly financial education workshops for IRC clients. They will also assist clients in understanding U.S. financial institutions and systems, banking, credit, budgeting, and taxes. This internship is open to current college students, graduate students, and post-graduate students who can receive course credit.
