Reddit User's Innovative Cooling Solution for Mac Mini Raises Safety Concerns
A Reddit user, kartikgsniderj, has devised an unconventional cooling system for their Mac mini, using a combination of water drops and tissue paper. This setup involves creating a makeshift water cooling tray with packing tape around the Mac mini's chassis. The user sprinkles water on tissue paper to cool the device, with the water presumably collected in the tape tray to prevent damage to the electrical components. This method reportedly reduces the device's temperature from 74°C to 49°C. However, the setup poses significant risks, as water and electrical components do not mix well, and any failure in the tape could lead to water damage.
