German Union Postpones Strike at Intersnack Factory Amid Pay Dispute
The German trade union NGG has postponed a planned 24-hour 'warning strike' at the Intersnack factory in Grevenbroich, which was set to begin at 10pm local time on July 27, 2026. The strike was initially announced due to a pay dispute, with the union claiming that production would halt. However, the union later issued a statement citing 'tactical reasons' for the postponement. The associated protest rally scheduled for the following day was also called off. Local union official Ina Korte-Grimberg emphasized that the work stoppage is merely delayed, not canceled. The union is dissatisfied with Intersnack's offer of a 2% wage increase and a one-time payment of €156, arguing that these terms do not keep pace with inflation. Employees are seeking a 5.8% pay rise or at least €230 more per month. Intersnack has not commented on the situation.
