Amazon and IOM Collaborate to Protect Migrant Workers from Exploitation
Amazon and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) are collaborating to protect migrant workers from exploitation through responsible recruitment practices. This initiative, part of the World Economic Forum's Global Data Partnership Against Forced Labour, focuses on Nepal, where many workers migrate to Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The program aims to increase awareness of labor trafficking and improve recruitment practices. Since its launch, the initiative has reached over 3,700 people, significantly increasing awareness of trafficking risks. Amazon and IOM are also developing a data hub to connect fragmented data across migration corridors, enhancing targeted interventions.
