SpaceWERX Selects 11 Firms for Strategic Funding to Advance Military Space Technologies
SpaceWERX, the innovation arm of the Space Force, has selected 11 companies for a new round of Strategic Funding Increase (STRATFI) agreements. These agreements are designed to transition space technologies from prototype stages to operational use for military applications. The total funding for these 11 agreements is projected to be $562.5 million, comprising approximately $245 million in government funding and the remainder from anticipated private investment and matching funds. The selected companies include Agile Space Industries, Antares Nuclear, EO Solutions, Hydrosat, Kall Morris, Method Security, Muon Space, Scout Space, Sedaro, Star Catcher Industries, and ThinkOrbital. SpaceWERX Director Arthur Grijalva highlighted STRATFI as a crucial tool for signaling demand to industry and private investors. The program is open to companies that have completed or are currently performing under a Phase 2 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) project.
