Life-Threatening Flooding Warning Issued for Central Texas
The National Weather Service's Weather Prediction Center has issued warnings for severe thunderstorms across the Southern and Central Plains, with a particular focus on central Texas. These storms are expected to bring heavy downpours, large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes. Flash flooding is a significant concern, especially in areas with a history of rapid water level rises, such as the Guadalupe River corridor. The threat is expected to persist into Monday as a low-pressure system moves along a frontal boundary. Emergency management agencies in multiple counties, including Guadalupe and Gonzales, have been activated in anticipation of potential flooding.
