Huntington Beach Community Revitalizes Autism Awareness Mural with Local Support
In Huntington Beach, a community-driven effort has led to the refreshing of a mural aimed at raising autism awareness. The initiative, spearheaded by the AMUSE 4 Autism Foundation, involved local artists, city officials, and community members. The mural, located in the parking lot of a Denny's restaurant, was originally painted in 2020 but was covered earlier this year. The project was revitalized during Autism Acceptance Month, with participation from Huntington Beach Mayor Casey McKeon, local firefighters, and Police Chief Eric Parra. The mural serves not only as an artistic endeavor but also as a platform for educating first responders about autism. Brittany Bas, founder of AMUSE 4 Autism, emphasized the importance of community understanding and support for families affected by autism.
