Waymo Self-Driving Car Catches Fire After Collision in Atlanta
A Waymo self-driving car caught fire after being rear-ended by another vehicle in northeast Atlanta. The incident occurred on Cheshire Bridge Road at Manchester Street. According to a Waymo spokesperson, the self-driving car was stationary, waiting to make a left turn when it was hit. The collision caused the other vehicle to catch fire, which then ignited the Waymo car. Fortunately, no one was inside the Waymo vehicle at the time. Atlanta Fire Rescue evaluated two individuals from the other vehicle, who declined hospital treatment.
