Burlington Nonprofit Hosts Back to School Bonanza for Students in Need
The Committee on Temporary Shelter (COTS) in Burlington, Vermont, organized its annual Back to School Bonanza, aimed at providing local K-12 students with necessary supplies for the upcoming school year. The event, which took place recently, featured local food vendors and food trucks, creating a community gathering atmosphere for students and their families. According to Rebekah Mott, COTS director of communications, the event is designed to offer families a moment to relax and for children to enjoy themselves before the school year begins. The initiative also focuses on connecting students with community resources. Donations collected from sponsors and food vendors during the event will be directed to COTS and distributed to community members experiencing housing instability.
