Moorhead High School Unveils New State-of-the-Art Theater Complex, Completing Five-Year Transformation
Moorhead Area Public Schools in Moorhead, Minnesota, celebrated the completion of a five-year high school construction project with the unveiling of a new state-of-the-art theater complex. The complex, which marks the final phase of the transformation, features a 1,050-seat auditorium with a convertible orchestra pit, a Black Box theater, music classrooms, art studios, a fine arts gallery vestibule, and a 31-station hair and makeup room. The project also includes large rooms for band, choir, and orchestra practices designed with acoustical considerations, 14 individual music practice rooms, and new locker rooms near the Field House for athletics and special events. A multipurpose room capable of serving as a dance studio, small performance space, or lecture hall with roll-out bleacher seating is also part of the new facilities. The community was invited for a self-guided tour of the new facilities, which were made possible by a bond referendum passed by voters in 2019.
