Dr. Emily Steier's Aliyah to Jerusalem Amid Wartime Challenges
Dr. Emily Steier, a fourth-generation medical professional, made aliyah to Jerusalem in December 2023, amidst the backdrop of war and uncertainty. Originally settled in the United States, Steier and her husband decided to move to Israel after feeling a strong calling to raise their children in a culture that supports their Jewish identity. Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing conflict, including sirens and missile threats, the family adapted to their new environment. Steier, a psychiatrist, has integrated into Israel's healthcare system, working with Meuhedet in Jerusalem and treating patients dealing with trauma and anxiety. Her journey reflects a commitment to building a life in Israel, overcoming linguistic and cultural barriers, and establishing a private practice focused on women's mental health.
