Meta Launches Sixth Annual Holocaust Remembrance Project to Amplify Survivors' Voices
Meta has launched the sixth annual edition of its Sharing Memories project on Yom Hashoah, aimed at connecting younger generations with testimonies from Holocaust survivors. This year's project, themed 'A Vanishing Generation,' is conducted entirely through social media due to security concerns in the Middle East. The initiative seeks to preserve the stories of Holocaust survivors as their numbers decline, with approximately 12,000 survivors passing away in Israel in 2025. The project was presented at an event hosted by President Isaac Herzog at the Office of the President in Israel, emphasizing the importance of sharing these stories with the world and future generations. For the first time, the project will be translated into seven languages, including French, Spanish, and Dutch, using artificial intelligence technology to expand its global reach.
