New Zealand's Golden Visa Program Sees Surge in American Applicants, Boosting Economic Investment
New Zealand's golden visa program has experienced a significant increase in applications, particularly from American citizens, following its re-launch last April. Immigration New Zealand reports a fivefold rise in applications, from 115 to 609 within a year, totaling over 2,000 applicants. This surge represents a potential investment of NZD $3.57 billion, with $1.32 billion already injected into the economy. The program aims to attract highly-skilled immigrants and investors by relaxing previous requirements, such as English proficiency and complex investment weighting systems. Additionally, the government has introduced a digital nomad visa and plans to implement new visa pathways for skilled migrants by mid-2026.
