Hospital for Special Surgery Utilizes AI to Enhance Pain Management Insights
At the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine annual meeting, the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) presented research using artificial intelligence to predict long-term pain risks after surgery and improve anesthesia education. The studies identified key factors such as inflammatory cytokine levels and preoperative pain that influence persistent pain post-surgery. Additionally, AI was used to analyze patient inquiries about anesthesia, revealing common concerns about risks and recovery. This research aims to guide anesthesiologists in better addressing patient needs and improving pain management strategies.
