In Nevada, the Greater Lake Tahoe area is also under alert, with similar snow and wind conditions expected. Hawaii's Big Island Summits are under a winter weather advisory, with up to 6 inches of snow and 60 mph winds anticipated. The NWS advises residents to stay indoors until conditions improve.
