President Trump Demands Bombardier Build in U.S. to Access Market Amid Trade Tensions
President Trump has issued a strong demand to Canadian aerospace giant Bombardier, stating that the company must build its products in the United States to gain access to the U.S. market. In a post on Truth Social, President Trump declared, 'NO MORE SELLING BOMBARDIER IN THE UNITED STATES! If they want our Market, they must build here, and stop treating America like a 'piggybank.'' This statement comes amidst escalating trade tensions between the U.S. and Canada, and on the eve of retaliatory tariffs set to be implemented by Canada on various U.S. goods. Bombardier, in response, highlighted its existing U.S. footprint, noting that it employs workers in over 20 states, operates sites in 10 states, and uses American-made components in its aircraft. The company also announced plans to expand its defense activities and service network in the U.S., including a new facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
