Marmot Researchers Turn to OnlyFans for Funding Amid Financial Challenges
Researchers at the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory (RMBL) in Colorado have launched an OnlyFans page, named OnlyMarms, to raise funds for their marmot research. The initiative comes as the program, which has been studying yellow-bellied marmots since 1962, faces potential funding cuts. The OnlyFans page features G-rated content of marmots engaging in their natural behaviors, such as playing and digging. Daniel Blumstein, a professor at UCLA, noted that while the platform is unconventional for scientific funding, it is a response to a challenging financial environment. The page aims to supplement funding for supplies and expenses, though it is unlikely to replace traditional federal funding.
