Serbian Amateur Choir Pop Hor Expands, Offering Joy and Community Amidst Political Tensions
An amateur pop choir named Pop Hor, which began with a small group of singers in a Serbian town, has rapidly expanded across the country. Founded by Nenad Azanjac and his wife, the choir promotes a stress-free and inclusive environment where anyone can join, regardless of their musical background. The choir, which started four years ago, now operates in 10 towns and has attracted hundreds of participants, primarily women. The choir's activities provide a positive outlet amidst the political tensions and pro-democracy protests in Serbia. Participants, like Nevenka Bila and Radmila Kozarac, have found the choir to be a source of joy and stress relief, contributing to their psychological well-being.
