Global Fashion Agenda Launches Initiative to Combat Textile Waste in Türkiye
The Global Fashion Agenda (GFA) has announced the launch of the Circular Fashion Partnership: Türkiye, a new initiative aimed at developing a circular textile system in Türkiye by capturing and recycling post-industrial textile waste. This initiative, announced during Sustainability Talks Istanbul, is led by GFA in collaboration with Rematters and supported by partners such as Reverse Resources and Closed Loop Fashion. The program, set to begin in early 2026, will focus on establishing textile waste management systems, enhancing traceability through digital tools, and connecting manufacturers with recyclers. The initiative aims to support compliance with evolving policy frameworks and foster national collaboration to drive systemic change. Türkiye, as a leading apparel manufacturing hub, is well-positioned to scale textile-to-textile recycling due to its integrated industry and proximity to the EU.
