San Jose Animal Care Center Seeks Public Help After Two Cats Shot with Pellet Guns
The San Jose Animal Care Center is requesting community assistance to identify individuals responsible for shooting and seriously injuring two cats with a pellet gun in separate incidents over the past two weeks. Both cats were strays, under a year old. The first, a 6-month-old female calico, was found near Chaucer Drive and South King Road with eight pellets lodged in her body; five were removed, and she is recovering. The second, an 8-month-old female white spotted tabby, was found near South Almaden Avenue and Union Street with a single pellet wound and is also recovering. It is currently unknown if the attacks are connected, and no suspects have been identified. Animal services officers have canvassed the neighborhoods and are asking residents for any information, including suspicious activity or security camera footage.
