Kansas Awards State Tax Credits to Hutchinson Housing Projects, Boosting Affordable Housing
Two affordable housing developments in Hutchinson, Kansas, have been awarded approximately $1.7 million each in state tax credits. These credits are part of Kansas' competitive 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. The projects, Hutchinson Park and Plaza Trails, initially applied for funding in 2025 but were not selected. The recent awards are part of the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation's latest round of affordable housing funding, which combines resources from federal and state programs. Hutchinson Park will feature 48 affordable units, while Plaza Trails will include 30 affordable and 6 market-value units. The developments are being undertaken by Zimmerman Properties, LLC, and JES Dev. Co., LLC, respectively.
