West Virginia's tourism economy has reached an unprecedented $9.4 billion economic impact, as announced by state officials at the annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism. Governor Morrisey attributed this 'tourism boom' to efforts in reducing bureaucracy and fostering business growth, which has attracted both travelers and companies to the state. In 2025, West Virginia welcomed 78.4 million visitors, marking a 1.6% increase from the previous year. These visitors collectively spent an average of $18.7 million daily, supporting local small businesses, lodging establishments, and outdoor recreation activities.
