Target Field Concessions Workers Strike Over Labor Practices Ahead of Noah Kahan Concert
Concessions workers at Target Field in Minnesota have initiated a strike over alleged unfair labor practices. The workers, represented by Unite Here Local 17, are protesting against Delaware North, the management company, for subcontracting union work to a nonprofit organization, Minnesota Funding Initiative, which was recently shut down by the Minnesota Attorney General's Office. The nonprofit was accused of misclassifying workers as volunteers and compensating them with 'grants' instead of wages. The strike is scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the day of a sold-out Noah Kahan concert. Delaware North has stated that they have contingency plans in place to ensure that the concert operations remain unaffected.
