Ottawa Invests Over $10 Million in Saskatchewan Agriculture Projects
The Canadian federal government has announced an investment of over $10 million in nine agriculture and agri-food projects in Saskatchewan. This funding, revealed by Prairies Economic Development Canada, aims to expand food processing, support innovation, and help businesses reach new markets. Key recipients include the Global Agri-Food Advancement Partnership and the Global Institute for Food Security. The investment will also support infrastructure upgrades at POS Biosciences Corp. and Bioriginal Food & Science Corp., and expand pork processing capacity at North 49 Foods Ltd. The initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance the province's agriculture sector, which accounts for a significant portion of its exports.
