GANNA Aims to Elevate Ukrainian Folk Music Beyond War Context
Ukrainian artist GANNA is working to bring traditional Ukrainian folk music to the forefront of the European music scene. Since 2013, GANNA has been collecting and reimagining ancient Ukrainian folk songs through jazz, electronic music, and contemporary composition. Her work has gained recognition, with her 2022 album 'HOME' being named Album of the Year by Germany's DLF Kultur. GANNA's latest album, 'UTOPIA', released in 2025, continues to receive praise for its innovative approach. Despite the increased interest in Ukrainian culture following Russia's invasion in 2022, GANNA emphasizes that her mission is to showcase the beauty and depth of Ukrainian music, not just its association with conflict.
