South Korea Lifts Travel Advisories for Parts of Thailand, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Ethiopia
The South Korean foreign ministry has announced the lifting of special travel advisories for specific regions in Thailand, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Ethiopia. This decision comes as local security and health risks in these areas have reportedly subsided. For Thailand, the special advisory for seven provinces near the Thailand-Cambodia border has been lifted, and the travel alert has been downgraded to Level 1, which advises caution. In Ethiopia, the advisory for parts of Addis Ababa is being removed due to the absence of active Ebola cases. Similarly, restrictions for select areas in Azerbaijan and Turkey are being lifted as no further drone or missile strikes have been reported amid broader Middle East conflicts. However, special advisories for checkpoint areas bordering Laos and Myanmar will remain in place to protect South Korean nationals from job scams and potential forced confinement.
