Denver Doctor Shimon Blau Qualifies for Congressional Ballot Against Melat Kiros
Shimon Blau, a Denver doctor, has qualified as an independent candidate for the November election in Colorado's 1st Congressional District. Blau, who is Jewish, decided to run after expressing concerns over Melat Kiros's comments on Israel and her refusal to label a firebombing attack in Boulder as antisemitic. He successfully gathered over 1,900 valid signatures to secure his place on the ballot, challenging Kiros, who recently defeated long-term incumbent Diana DeGette in the Democratic primary.
