Agricultural Produce Collection Center and Cold Storage Facility Opens in Bajura
A new agricultural produce collection center, including a cold storage facility, has been inaugurated in Kolti, Bajura, within Budhiganga Municipality. The center aims to facilitate the sale of vegetables and fruits produced by local farmers, even during off-seasons. Santosh Kumar Sah, the acting chief administrative officer, stated that the center was established to alleviate the difficulties faced by farmers who previously had to sell their produce individually to hotels and shops. The facility was constructed through a financial partnership between the municipality and GIZ, with a joint investment of over 6.8 million rupees. Mayor Janak Kumar Bohara noted that the center will store various crops, including potatoes, apples, and oranges, allowing for distribution at other times. The facility was inaugurated by Bir Bahadur Thapa, Minister of Land Management, Agriculture, and Cooperatives of Sudurpashchim Province.
