Spain Achieves Record Tourism Numbers with 97 Million Visitors in 2025
Spain has set a new tourism record in 2025, with nearly 96.8 million international tourists visiting the country, according to provisional data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE). This marks a 3.2% increase from the previous year, when approximately 94 million tourists visited. The increase in tourism is accompanied by a significant rise in spending, with visitors spending a total of €134.712 billion, a 6.8% increase from 2024. The United Kingdom remains the leading country of origin for tourists, contributing nearly 19 million visitors and €23.65 billion in spending. France and Germany follow, with 12.7 million and 12 million visitors, respectively. The most popular regions for international tourists include Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, and the Canary Islands, each attracting millions of visitors and substantial spending.
