UC Riverside Develops Tool to Trace Origins of AI-Generated Videos
Researchers at UC Riverside have developed a tool called SAGA (Source Attribution of Generative AI Videos) that can identify the AI systems responsible for creating synthetic videos. This tool analyzes visual patterns within video frames, which act as 'fingerprints' left by different AI generators. The development comes amid growing concerns about the misuse of AI-generated videos in misinformation campaigns and other deceptive activities. SAGA aims to provide a forensic path for identifying the sources of such videos, aiding digital forensic investigators and regulators.
