Gates Foundation Review Clears Ties with Epstein, Implements New Governance Measures
The Gates Foundation has concluded an external review conducted by the law firm WilmerHale, which found no evidence of wrongdoing in its past engagements with Jeffrey Epstein. The review, commissioned by CEO Mark Suzman and supported by Bill Gates and the Board, involved over 50 interviews and extensive document analysis. It confirmed that the foundation's interactions with Epstein from 2011 to 2014 were limited to discussions on a donor-advised fund and a grant to the International Peace Institute. The foundation has now approved new governance measures, including a centralized vetting process for third-party engagements and enhanced conflict of interest policies.
