Real Estate Coalition Launches 'Let America Build' Campaign to Address National Housing Shortage
A coalition of rival real estate firms, developers, and housing advocates has initiated the 'Let America Build' national campaign. The campaign aims to bring housing supply and affordability to the forefront of the upcoming November elections. Its core objective is to urge voters and political candidates to address the severe national housing shortage by dismantling local regulatory barriers that impede new construction. Industry leaders indicate that the national housing supply gap has significantly widened, growing from a deficit of 2.5 million homes in 2023 to 3.8 million in 2024, and reaching 4.03 million homes in 2025. The coalition comprises 14 prominent organizations, including listing portals Realtor.com and Zillow, major brokerages like eXp Realty, NextHome, and HomeServices of America, as well as industry associations, builders, and non-profit groups such as Habitat for Humanity.
