Experimental Vaccines Aim to Prevent Lynch Syndrome-Related Cancers
Researchers are developing experimental vaccines to prevent cancers associated with Lynch syndrome, a genetic condition that significantly increases the risk of colorectal and other cancers. Lynch syndrome affects approximately 1 million Americans, leading to a higher likelihood of developing tumors at a young age. The vaccines aim to train the immune system to recognize and intercept cancerous growths before they develop into full-fledged tumors. Early trials have shown promising results, with participants experiencing fewer precancerous growths.
