Chinese Surgical Robots Enter Vietnam Market, Challenging US Medical Dominance
China has successfully introduced domestically developed surgical robots into Vietnamese hospitals, marking a significant advancement in its medical technology exports. This development is part of China's broader strategy to challenge Western dominance in high-end medical equipment. The Chinese National Healthcare Security Administration (NHSA) has facilitated this entry through a regional medical products trading platform, aiming to expand the presence of Chinese medical devices in Southeast Asia. The initiative includes cooperation in robotic surgery training and academic exchanges, with plans to further register large-scale medical equipment in Vietnam.
