Documentary 'This Is Not A Drill' Highlights Grassroots Activism Against Big Oil
The documentary 'This Is Not A Drill' is set to premiere on YouTube, showcasing the efforts of grassroots activists confronting the oil and gas industry. Directed by Oscar nominee Oren Jacoby, the film follows three activists: Justin J. Pearson, Roishetta Ozane, and Sharon Wilson. Pearson, a Tennessee House Representative, gained attention in 2023 for his expulsion from the legislature after a gun control protest. Ozane, a Louisiana mother, channels personal loss into political activism, while Wilson, a former oil insider, uses technology to expose environmental hazards. The film, which premiered at the Telluride Film Festival and won an audience award at the 2025 GlobeDocs Film Festival, will be available for free on Patagonia's YouTube page starting April 30.
