The scam falsely claimed endorsements from celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, Kelly Clarkson, and Dr. Mehmet Oz. Hilton initially believed the diet was effective, losing two pounds, but later experienced bloating and health issues. She discovered the endorsements were deepfakes, AI-generated videos designed to mislead consumers. The scam has been spreading through social media, using the likenesses of well-known figures to promote the diet. Oprah Winfrey's team confirmed she is not involved in any such promotions, advising consumers to verify information before making purchases.
