Taiho Oncology Announces Positive Interim Results in Lung Cancer Trial
Taiho Oncology, Inc., Taiho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and Cullinan Therapeutics, Inc. have announced that their Phase 3 REZILIENT3 trial has met its primary endpoint of progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) harboring EGFR exon 20 insertion mutations. The trial, which evaluates the combination of zipalertinib and platinum-based chemotherapy against chemotherapy alone, showed a statistically significant improvement in PFS for the zipalertinib arm. The Independent Data Monitoring Committee has recommended unblinding the study, and the trial will continue to monitor efficacy and safety. The companies plan to pursue U.S. regulatory approval for this combination regimen.
