The Wing Launches in New Zealand to Boost International Film Co-Productions
The Wing, a new post-production and film financing company, has been launched in New Zealand ahead of the Cannes market. Co-founded by Tavake Limited and Be Hope Films, The Wing aims to support international producers with co-production treaties with New Zealand by offering post-production services bundled with an equity financing mechanism. This mechanism converts post-production spending into investment, leveraging New Zealand's Screen Production Rebate, which returns 40% on qualifying expenditures. The Wing positions itself as a single point of contact for international co-producers, ensuring that every eligible dollar of a production reaches its full rebate potential. The company is supported by a strategic alliance with Hinterland, a New Zealand-based screen media finance company, and targets independent and mid-tier international co-productions with budgets between $5M and $15M.
