Lockheed Martin Introduces Lower-Cost Patriot Interceptor for European Market
At the Farnborough Airshow, Lockheed Martin announced the development of a new, cost-effective Patriot PAC-3 interceptor aimed at the European market. This initiative is part of a broader effort to provide budget-friendly air defense solutions. The new interceptor builds on the existing PAC-3 fire control system and integrates with the Northrop Grumman Integrated Battle Command System. It aims to reduce the cost-per-kill for various threats, including air-breathing threats, cruise missiles, and short-range ballistic missiles. Lockheed Martin is collaborating with U.S. and European industry partners to advance this project.
