Traci Park Leads Fundraising in L.A. City Council Race Against Faizah Malik
Los Angeles City Council member Traci Park has significantly outpaced her challenger, Faizah Malik, in fundraising efforts for the upcoming June 2 primary election. Park has raised over $1.2 million, more than double the $454,000 reported by Malik, a civil rights attorney. This financial lead is part of a broader trend in the city's council races, where incumbents generally hold substantial fundraising advantages. The District 11 seat, which includes areas like Mar Vista and Venice, is one of the most financially competitive, with nearly $1.7 million raised in total. The primary election will determine the winner if a candidate secures a majority; otherwise, the top two will face off in the November general election.
