Grand Forks Nonprofits Continue Efforts to Combat Homelessness Amidst City Group Transition
Local nonprofit organizations in Grand Forks are sustaining their efforts to address homelessness through monthly meetings and community outreach. Groups such as St. Joseph’s Social Care, United Way of Grand Forks, East Grand Forks and Area, and Northlands Rescue Mission are actively involved. These organizations participate in the Community Agency Networking Association (CANA) to share information and coordinate services, and also engage in CARES (Coordinated Access, Referral, Entry and Stabilization System) meetings to streamline resources for shared clients. Their initiatives include spreading awareness about homelessness prevention services and providing assistance with healthcare, food, transportation, counseling, and employment.
