FAU Fraternity Raises Funds for Veterans' PTSD and TBI Recovery Through The 22 Project
The Eta Mu chapter of Alpha Tau Omega at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) hosted its annual Buffalo Bash fundraiser in downtown Boca Raton. The event aimed to raise money for The 22 Project, an initiative that provides hyperbaric oxygen therapy and rehabilitation services to military veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Two veterans, Elvis John-Baptiste and William Delgado, shared their personal experiences with PTSD and TBI, and how The 22 Project significantly aided their recovery. John-Baptiste, a retired Marine Corps veteran, spoke about his struggles with memory loss, sleep disturbances, and anger after 30 years of service, highlighting the program as a 'lifesaver.' Delgado, a Navy veteran, noted improvements in his sleep and a reduction in physical pain and anger after receiving treatment.
