Political Powerbroker George Norcross Donates $100 Million to Cooper University Health Care
George Norcross, a prominent political figure in New Jersey and chairman of Conner Strong & Buckelew, has announced a $100 million donation to Cooper University Health Care in Camden, New Jersey. This significant gift is the largest single philanthropic donation in the health system's history and one of the largest ever made to a New Jersey hospital. The donation is part of Cooper's ongoing $3 billion expansion in Camden. In recognition of this contribution, the Norcross family name will be added to the health system, though specific buildings or programs have yet to be designated. The Norcross family has a long-standing relationship with Cooper, spanning over 50 years, with George Norcross himself serving on the hospital's board since 1990 and being its longest-serving chairman. His late father, George E. Norcross Jr., was also a board member, and his mother, Anne Carol Conner Norcross, advocated for seniors and underserved Camden residents. The donation honors his parents.
