HarperCollins India to Publish Sonia Gandhi's Memoir After Penguin Random House India Withdrawal
HarperCollins India has announced it will publish Sonia Gandhi's memoir, 'Belonging: A Journey of Love,' in India on November 10, 2026. This development follows Penguin Random House India's (PRHI) decision to withdraw from the publication deal due to an unresolved dispute over editorial changes. PRHI stated that discussions with Gandhi's team reached an impasse regarding a particular issue, though they maintained their prerogative to fact-check and recommend changes to manuscripts. Alfred A. Knopf, a U.S.-based imprint of Penguin Random House, had previously announced the book's worldwide release for the same date. HarperCollins India describes the memoir as a dramatic and deeply personal story offering an insider's view of India's political, economic, and social changes over five decades, weaving together themes of love, identity, duty, and belonging.
