Korean Government Condemns Attack on Vessel in Strait of Hormuz
The Korean government has condemned an attack on the HMM Namu, a bulk carrier operated by the Korean shipping company HMM, in the Strait of Hormuz. The vessel was struck by two unidentified airborne objects, causing significant damage and rendering it inoperable. This incident marks the first attack on a Korea-linked vessel since the conflict between the U.S. and Iran began. The Korean government has not yet identified the responsible party but is committed to joining international efforts to ensure the safe passage of ships through the strait.
