Napa City Council to Vote on New Sidewalk Vendor Regulations Amid Event Concerns

This move comes in response to an increase in sidewalk vendors during major events such as BottleRock Napa Valley and the Napa Lighted Art Festival. The proposed ordinance requires all sidewalk vendors to obtain a city permit, which would be valid for one year. The permit process includes providing personal and business information, and the city plans to charge $337 for a new permit and $257 for renewals. The ordinance also outlines specific operational restrictions, such as maintaining unobstructed sidewalks and avoiding certain areas during school hours. Violations of these regulations could result in fines and potential permit suspension.
