U.S. Department of Energy Launches Program to Reduce Construction Costs for Builders
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has initiated the Building America New Construction Support program, designed to offer technical assistance to residential, commercial, and industrial builders. This program aims to help companies reduce construction costs, build faster, and deliver savings to American consumers. Builders can access experts from the DOE and U.S. National Laboratories to address specific technical challenges. The support covers various areas, including product design and materials innovation, advanced digital and AI-driven tools for early design issue identification and workflow automation, and factory optimization. This initiative builds upon the DOE's 26 years of Building America work and its Advanced Building Construction initiative, which has funded 29 projects validating off-site construction and retrofit technologies since 2018. The program is available to builders of all sizes at no cost.
