Indian Army Unveils Technology Roadmap for Unmanned Aerial Systems to Enhance Defense Capabilities
The Indian Army has introduced a comprehensive technology roadmap for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and Loitering Munitions in New Delhi. This initiative aims to provide long-term visibility into the Army's requirements in the field of unmanned aerial technology. The roadmap is designed to offer clear and actionable guidance to industry, academia, and research institutions, directing investments and technological efforts towards priority areas identified by the Army. Deputy Chief of the Army Staff, Lieutenant General Rahul R. Singh, emphasized the growing importance of drone technology in modern warfare, highlighting the need for a balance between mass deployment and precision targeting. The event gathered key stakeholders from the armed forces, defense industry, start-ups, and academia, promoting a collaborative approach to building a resilient and self-reliant drone ecosystem.
